MEET PETER

Hi there! My name is Peter Newsom and I’m a photographer based in Nashville, TN. I am extremely passionate about what I do, and I love having the privilege of working with some incredible couples, families, and businesses in our great city and across the Southeast US.

When I was 15 years old, my dad had just bought a new camera. He started waking up early in the morning and driving around the Tennessee countryside, stopping the car whenever he saw something that caught his eye to take a picture of. I would wake up to him just getting back home, as he was excited to share the incredible photos he had taken. I was amazed, and asked if I could tag along at 6am the next morning and take a few photos too. He obliged, and the rest is history.

I spent the next 4 years volunteering as camp photographer at the biggest summer camp in Nashville. There I took thousands of photos every week and shared them with the parents, who voted me Best Children’s Photographer in Nashville Parent Magazine. I took that experience and portfolio to college where I studied photography at SCAD, before returning to go full-time with corporate event and wedding photography in Nashville. It’s been an incredibly rewarding and encouraging journey so far, and I couldn’t be more excited to grow professionaly and personally.

My greatest driving force in my passion and creativity for what I do, is my faith in Christ. Glorifying Him through my work is what I feel called to do with my life. He has given me such a passion and joy for capturing special moments, and I hope you can see that through my work.

I’ve also been given the most incredible wife in Julia, and being her husband is my favorite thing in the world. We live a simple life with our senior border collie Aussie, and cat Wally. Our dream is to purchase a little farm one day.
